Structural Integration - Rolf Therapy
In this workshop we will learn about the theory and practice of Structural Integration, a method developed by Dr. Ida Rolf. Structural Integration is a system of changing the structure (structure and shape) of the body and educating its use. We all live in the Earth's energy field, and gravity is the strongest physical impact our bodies must cope with. If we want to integrate the body successfully, it is necessary to induce the right relationships between the individual segments (head, chest, pelvis, limbs). Otherwise, the body begins to create additional elements of support - by densifying and shortening the fascia. Over time this disrupts the proper functioning of the joints, muscles, etc. Fascia is an elastic and plastic medium. It can be shaped. Structural Integration is therefore based on the assumption that the human body can be shaped, and its structure can be changed. Its purpose is to help the body to find a more natural balance with gravity.
We will explore our body, looking for a sense of its structures and relationships. We will touch the fascia and talk about the theoretical background of Structural Integration. The last part of the workshop will be a shortened practical demonstration of a Structural Integration session.
Vladimír Kučera (CZ)
Vladimír draws his knowledge and skills in the field of Rolf Therapy from his daily work with his own clients and through regular participation in follow-up workshops and seminars led by foreign lecturers, most of whom are original students of Ida Rolf. At the end of 2018, he completed advanced Structural Integration training with Neal Powers, former director of Guild For Structural Integration and Rolf Institute. Originally a social worker, Vladimir found his true path and teacher in Rolf Therapy. He sees Rolf Therapy as not only a method, but a lense through which a person can be viewed, individual differences, interdependencies and all. In the human body everything is related to everything else. It is not only the physical aspect of the body but also the psyche, because a relaxed and balanced body leads to a relaxed and balanced mind.
